When I go to system link to join a game in Halo 2 they show up but then vanish within a few seconds. Then seconds later they start showing up again. I can successfully join and play a game if I can click on one before they disappear.
I haven't tried any other games to see if they do the same.

Yes they do always appear back seconds after they disappear. But why do they disappear in the first place and is this normal? It's a continuous cycle of them appearing then disappearing. It's annoying because I have to catch them before they go away. This doesn't give me much time to see the details of the games before they disappear. Maybe it's a firewall issue with my Linksys router. But like I said, when I do join the games I have no other issues.
