Is your network reachable? Yes
Are you using a port-forward? Yes
Is your console being detected? Yes
Brief description of your network setup: Netgear DG834G router; xbox and PC connect via router
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? No - I disabled Windows firewall
Operating System? WinXP Pro
Problem description? Program crashed and generated a M$ crash report on first load after switching on PC while loading Engine. It did this as soon as new software had been updated/downloaded. Tried loading again but it crashed. Third time it worked - connected successfully to UK Orbital but was 'Network Unreachable'. Switched on Xbox and program just quit as soon as I loaded Halo. Left Halo looking for games and reloaded Xlink - this time network reachable and console detected - was able to play online.
Main problem here is the random crashes and quits either when loading Xlink or when loading a game.
Should the network be reachable without xbox switched on or does it only work when looking for games? To add more to this, since I was able to play online, the network is always reachable now, even though it didn't work at first...
Are there any logs I can post to help you diagnose problem?
Many thanks for your help

Hi again,
I've just reset my computer and now Xlink crashes everytime I try to load it. Would you like me to post the crash error report that is generated for sending to Microsoft? |

I think you need to update your XP Network card drivers. Go to Windows Update and see if there is one available for you there and report back when done. |

Thanks SS-Funk, it does indeed work fine now.
I had an older version of the n-force drivers installed and it seems the new ones have worked a treat.
Cheers |

Sweet. I'm liking the Help Request stuff. So much easier to help people..
I'll run an evaluation of it in like 2 weeks. |
