Hi everybody!

I have a problem with xlink.
When I start xlink a window appears with the text “ Looking for Kai engine…” on the top and nothing more happens. Tried to reinstall the program with same result. Does anybody know how to resolve this problem? Please help!

I get the same thing. I run the launcher and it at the end it says

starting KaiEngine...
starting KaiUI...
closing Launcher..

then the UI pops up in messenger mode and at the top by the spinning logo it says "Looking for Kai Engine.." It just hangs there, and does nothing.

I have re-installed the app and downloaded the la\test winpcap.

Any thing else to try?

With KAI 6 we could run the engine on a hard-wired PC, and the UI on a wirelessly attached PC (laptop in my case) so we didn't have to run upstairs to change arenas.

With KAI EVO VII, it seems we should still have that functionality, but it doesn't work for me. In the config section, I have it configed as 'accept UI from any IP'. I start KAI 7 using launcher on my wired PC, then try to restart the UI, using KAIUI from my laptop. It just hangs on searching for engine.

Did this functionality go away? Will it be back? Am I doing something wrong?

I know that AVA will eventually have support in the dash, but I plan to use the UI for communicating anyway.

Can anyone help?

yes you will be able to run the kai engine on 1 pc and the UI on another, no it is not implimented yet. (Thank Goodness for Auto-Update!)

as for the bug, keep reading i dont know what else to tell you. hopefully the upcoming update will solve that as well. this is going to be a rather big update so work is being done asap. please be patient

Uninstalled it again, deactivated my firewall (Zonealarm), then reinstalled it and now its working! Very Happy
Don’t know if the firewall was the problem or if the latest Kai update fixed the bug but now its working great even with my firewall activated!

Hola,

Firewalls blocking communications with 127.0.0.1 (ie the local machine) will cause the hanging on Looking For Engine problem..
