HELP, xbox not connecting!!

hi guys, im new to xlink.
i have my laptop in my room, and im using a wireless connection to get to the net, the xbox is modded with evo x and im plugged in with the correct cable.
i cant configure the xbox and laptops ip address correctly to get on to xlink.

please help!!!

Are you using a crossover cable or a regular patch 5 cable?

not sure, but the cable im using has been used to link xbox to xbox before, to trans games and play system link. i think that makes it crossovr

also, im running a netgear wireless router.
my ip is 192.168.62.3
the computer, that is hardwired to the router is 192.168.62.2

So your computer is connected to the laptop? The laptop uses a wireless cable to get to the net? And the Xbox is connected to this laptop?
That's exactly what I have.

If you can already transfer games you should be able to play. Haven't you seen any games in system link mode?

Ok you have some options. For the best connection you can use the computer that is harwired to the router, and hardwire the xbox to the router with a patch 5 just like the computer is.

OR you can use your laptop, have it go wireless to the router, but have it connected to the xbox with the crossover cable.

there is no need to use 2 computers for Kai. Pick one of the setups i mentioned above Smile

my problem is still that xlink doesnt show that it is connected to xbox, i have all my ip address wrong i think. what do i set xbox ip to nad xbox dns server aswell?
i havent trasfered games from pc to xbox, just xbox to xbox.
what do i put upder ip settings under the LAN ip settings, it am telling it to assign the settings that i put in atm.

please help!!

under diagnostics, it shws xbox found: not yet, but down in the taslbar of windows, my network says connected.
i think its just ip settings mixed up.
can anyone help me configure what i should assign what ip/dns to what!?

Why do you have to configure your xbox? If you just use Kai on your computer the xbox is connected with you don't need configure anything.

Do you use Xbox Media Center? How is your Xbox connected?
Is it connected with your laptop or your router?

im not using media center for xbox. and the xbox is connected to my laptop

i have my xbox hook into my router.. can i use it that way or no?? also i have another question shuld i hook it up from the computer with my ethernet cable from my router to the xbox??

ok im having the same problem as the guys above, i have my 360 hooked into my laptop and my laptop wireless to my router, when i run kai commander it shows games being played and areans and everything buts its NOT detecting my xbox360. can anyone help. and im a noob to this so please be patient with me thanks

oh yea i forgot to mention im running this from a mac
