Is your network reachable? Yes
Are you using a port-forward? Yes
Is your console being detected? Yes
Brief description of your network setup: xbox crosslinkt to my laptop with a wireless internet connection to my wireless router..
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? Have got a Norton Firewall but disable it when i play on Kai
Operating System? WindowsXP Pro + SP2
Problem description? Whenever I join a game, after about 3 to 5 minutes I get kicked out with a 'connection error'.. Sometimes i get the error message form XP other times Kai just hangs on me and i have to restart it.

The connection error could still be a side-effect of Norton's firewall, even though it's disabled, it doesn't let traffic go through. But why it takes 3 - 5 minutes I wouldn't know..

I would say it's something with your wireless network? How strong is the signal when you play?

If you look in your Norton Firewall logs, in the Intrusion Detection section does it alert you of an Invalid Source IP Address detection and that it is disabling the connection for 30 minutes? This error commonly appears in Norton Personal Firewall, Symantec Client Security and Norton Internet Security due to the fact that they all use the same firewall technologies.

well if kai is detecting your xbox and your network is reachable i am not sure why there is a problem.

What game(s) have you tried?

i've tried Startwars battle..... and Rainbow Six Blackarrow and they both throw me out after like 5 minutes....

I have done a speed test for my connection:

download: 2389 kbps
upload: 303 kbps
connection: 178.0 Conn/min
ping: not possible...

seems enough right?

I'm aware that you are disabling the Norton Firewall, but one thing we've run into is that many firewall softwares keep ports blocked even when they are disabled. Would you have any objection to completely uninstalling the Norton Firewall and testing the connection?
