are you sure you cant see any games?

What games have you tried?

If your network is reachable, and kai detects your console.

There are not many more things that could be wrong.

If you have time, try to get ahold of me in the Halo 2 arena today/tonight
and i will try and help you get set.

If people can see your ping and the Kai Diagnostic screen reads that your network is reachable then the only thing left is your Zone Alarm firewall. One thing that has helped numerous people with Zone Alarm is to allow UDP outbound traffic on all ports from the IP address 0.0.0.1 - and while I know this isn't the best fix in the world unfortunately it has to do with the different firewall softwares and how they handle TCP/IP sockets which is something we can't control.

If you aren't opposed to it, try uninstalling the Zone Alarm firewall and see if everything suddenly starts to work. I'm almost sure it will. Of course, it'd be a good idea to backup any installation files, configs and install keys you need beforehand.

As we have stated in NUMEROUS threads - disabling the firewall does not release the restrictions that they create. It merely disables the firewall executable with the same ports STILL BLOCKED AND UNABLE TO BE USED.

We've only gone over this in, I don't know... a few dozen threads? The ultimate test is to remove the software completely if disabling does not help.

well, I tried enabling all ports outbound, seems like this was something that had to be done the hardware firewall. I was unable to allow 0-65535, but able to allow various other ranges in between with no resolve.
From what Die-Hard directed me to do, there were no live updates on my system... so that does seem to be the culprit. Also from the work we did, I don't seem to be visibly any closer to resolving the issue; NOT that I don't appreciate all the help, as I certainly do appreciate it.
I have addes 0.0.0.1 to the trusted zone in zone alarm with no difference in conectivity. Was there something additional to this that I was supposed to do. It seemed that adding it as a trusted zone, and seeing no negative log releated activity with that IP that this is not the problem either.
I will probably be uninstalling the firewall soon, unless given other recommendations. In the case that I uninstall it. . . well what Firewall software are the moderators using that don't bring trouble, and i'm guessing that if I reinstall after a successful connection from uninstall, that the same problem will re-surface. Thanks for all the help guys, please advise.

You can use Sygate Personal Firewall. Search for 'sygate AND summary' and you should get one result, which includes the instructions on how to get it all working.

will try, uninstall of zone alarm a no go. No difference after restart, restarting kai, restarting xbox, ensuring xp firewall off. Hell of a process for some of us.

i have Zoom town ADSL, the modem is a Westell B90, and their appears to be no configuration software for it. This end I have researched. I am wondering about the Network Everywhere Router, and the possibility of the hardware firewall playing in.
Waiting for advice.

i saw some blocks coming up under my routers ip (192.168.1.1), so I allowed them via a rule to get rid of the block. Don't see any negative activity otherwise
Still no go.

this officially blows, just for shits and giggles I tried with and without port forwarding; was at 30k, change to 0, leaving it there.
Same results with XBconnect
I'll monitor for responses, but I'm done tinkering on my own for now

OK... I went to http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm to look for port forwarding info, just to make sure i wasn't dicking it up. I did as I always have, in addition, disabling block wan request, as it specifies for the (Network Everywhere NR041. No Change
I then tried enabling and port forwarding with the router, allowing it with firewall, with and W/out PAT checked; w/ forwarding off with and w/out PAT. I'm out of Ideas.... Again

Seems you might need some one on one time to get this sorted. Hit me on MSN after 5pm EST and I will do my best to get you up and running. Unless someone else has time to fix it before then.

Well guys, I'm an ass, it seems I've been trying to play Rainbox 6-3 Black Arrow with plain old Rainbow 6-3. So the moral of the story is... when you get a game off ebay that has similar titles. . . look a little harder to make sure they shipped the one they sold. I'm off to get my money back, and of course sue for time lost in solving an error that didn't exist (pain and suffering).
Thanks for all of your help, Rainbox 6-3 plays perfectly.
Sheesh

Oh yeah and of course apologies to all involved lol
