Install it and once installed goto Start/All Programs/XLink Kai and click on Configure Kai
If that doesnt work
try this ..
I think I have a solution to the problem, or at least this worked for me. This is in no way an official fix yet until the team can get it confirmed by more people.
1. Uninstall XLink Kai via the uninstaller from the Control Panel--->"Add of Remove Programs"
2. Download and Run CCleaner. Use both the "Cleaner" and "Registry" features and make sure it deletes the files/references. This way it SHOULD remove any temporary internet files as well as old kai registry references(from previous kai builds) that might be causing the runtime error.
3. Reinstall the latest version of Kai...

those 2 suggestions have fixed a number of issues when going from old kai to new ..
