xlink crashes when i enter system link on halo 2

Is your network reachable? Yes
Are you using a port-forward? Unsure
Is your console being detected? Yes
Brief description of your network setup: Modem on pc downstairs, network cable from pc downstairs to hub, link from hub to my pc, x over cable from my pc to xbox.
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? um not software, only xp sp2 firwall
Operating System? XP Pro SP2
Problem description? basically when im on the main menu for halo 2 and start up kai it runs perfectly, however once i press the system link option on halo 2, kai somehow crashes on me pc , ive tried re-installing and nothing helps

Change your NIC from Autodetect and lock - select the Network card you have installed. Your problems should clear up with just this change.
