port forwarding has for the longest time been a major part of our tech support and users frustration when setting up XLink .. good news is as of version 7.4.14 XLink Kai supports UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) ..

ya so, what the hell does that mean ?

well if your router supports UPnP (and most do) you will not have to forward a port , yep thats right , no static IP , no forwarding. UPnP will auto forward a port.

How to set it up.

alot of routers that support UPnP come with it disabled by default, this means you will have to login to your router and enable it. theirs lots of instructions around for how to access your router.

in the kai config just leave everything alone , kai port = 0 and deep port = 0 ..

should be good to go now :]

here is some reading material on the subject.
