So I have a Japanese copy of Monster Hunter Portable 2, and I am going to get Monster Hunter Portable 2 G in about 2 weeks.

I was wondering if the Japanese Version of the game, can play with the American version of the game.

Also, I was wondering if the wireless USB
「PLANEX WiFi USB Adapter for Online Game/Wireless LAN GW-US54Mini2W(White) designed in Japan」
would be able to let me play with fellow Japanese players.

The descriptions for most USB wireless things say "all around the world"
But I wasn't sure whether or not the USB could really send the signals all the way around the globe.

I live in Pennsylvania, so I'm sure its closer compared to some other places, but its just hard to believe that the USB wireless makes the PSP wireless go all the way to Japan and be able to play.

(I do not have the USB yet, I am planning on getting it once I get Monster Hunter 2 G)

I may ask for installation help later on.

Thank you

the usb card doesnt transfer signal all the way to japan all it does is transfer the data to ur pc which kai tunnels the data to the other players. MHP2 and MHP2g are incomptable they will freeze up the psp.

so that means that I can't play with other hunters for Monster Hunter Portable 2/2G right?

Is there any time soon that MHP2/2G will be able to be used on the xlink servers?

well it doesn't matter for 2G really, since I'll play when I go over there.

But will MHP2 be compatible later on in the future?

I found out that you can play MHP2G with XLINK KAI.

I'll be looking into this a lot more so if I have some questions, please answer.

Edit 1:
I found a link for the xlink explanation,
http://www.psp-style.info/usages/xlink_1.html
BUFFALO WLI-USB-KB11
seems to be the most recommended .

You said MHF2 and MHF2G freeze up the psp in an earlier post...?

Edit:
Also I can't seem to configure the kai configurations, it opens a new internet window, and loads for a good 10 mins or so, and errors.

I think what Mort meant to say is that if there is a PSP running MHP2 in the same arena as a PSP running MHP2G, they'll lock up. MHP2 and MHP2G both certainly work on Kai - they're our most popular games at the moment.

hm, maybe my question wasn't clear at the beginning.

1. Can I, a person living in the United States, (PA) play my JPN version of MHF2 or MHF2G with people living in Japan?

2. If I wanted to play with other U.S people, do I need to buy a English Version of MHF2, or can the English Version and Japanese Version of MHF2 play together?

You have to keep the same version if you have MHP2 You can play anyone anywhere as long as they have the same version of the game. Same with the rest of them.

1. Yes you can, just make sure you are both playing the same game (MHF2 or MHF2G)

2. English version and Japanese version of MHF2 can play together as well.

ah, thanks
Currently I'm still planning on which USB to buy,

I have a Windows XP, Presario Laptop, made by Compaq.

It is currently wirelessly connected to the internet, but if I remember right, to connect from the Internet to the PSP, it has to be

Internet:Laptop/Desktop:PSP

so I can make it to cable internet also.

Q: What kind of USB would you recommend?

Currently looked at:
BUFFALO WLI-USB-KB11
PLANEX WiFi USB Adapter for Online Game/Wireless LAN GW-US54Mini2W(White)

Thank you for the answer to number 2, I'm glad the PSP has no language barriers.
