Am I correct in thinking that kaiEngine won't run on 64bit Ubuntu?
If someone can tell me it'll save me more hours of wasted time banging my head against a brick wall

[I am running xlink kai on Ubuntu 8.04.1 64 bit.I had to download libpcap0.8_0.9.8-2_i386.deb, libwxbase2.8-0_2.8.7.1-0ubuntu3_i386.deb and libwxgtk2.8-0_2.8.7.1-0ubuntu3_i386.deb from this site:http://packages.ubuntu.com/en/hardy/libpcap0.8 I extracted the three .deb files and i extracted also the data.tar.gz files in each folder. Then I copied all the files within each lib folder to /usr/lib32 folder or directory. This was all i had to do.

You need to forward port 30000 UDP through your router to the ip of the linux machine, that should fix your disconnecting problem

Hello guys! I've got a friend who is trying to run kaiengine 7.4.18 on his Ubuntu Jaunty 64bit. He installed libpcap, libwxbase, libwxgtk and also extracted all three debs and copied all 8 so and other files to /usr/lib32, /lib32 and /usr/lib64 (dunno if they're correct, but he pasted in all those).

When he tries to start the engine with "sudo ./kaiengine" it still reads: ""error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk2u_richtext-2.8.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

He also has the -dev of all these packs installed. Where is the problem?

Thanks in advance!! Wink

He has this package already (8.0). We checked all the tutorials and browsed the google for solution. Didn't find anything. So we need something serious to try. It gives him the error no matter he has it all installed.
