Here is the guide how to make this adapter work.
This adapter is built on a Zydas ZD1211B chipset, the same as WifiMAX, so this GUDE almost fits. The only thing missing is that provided driver won't recognize you adapter because it's hardware ID is not included in the driver's INF file.
So, you should be following that guide until step 10. Just before plugging in the adapter you should do these steps:
9.1. Go to the folder where the software was installed. Default is "c:\Program Files\ZyDAS Technology Corporation\ZyDAS_802.11g_Utility\"
9.2. Move to the folder with the driver itself - "InsDrvTemp_USB" and open "ZD1211BU.INF" with Notepad
9.3. Find the lines containing "USB\VID_0586&PID_340F" - this is a harware ID of an adapter which is almost like ours. There are 3 lines like this. Our adapters ID is "USB\VID_0586&PID_3410". So you just need to change the last two symbols in all the three lines from "0F" to "10". Save the changes
9.4. Go up one folder and open "ZDWlan.INI" file. Look for "USB\VID_0586&PID_340F" (only one occurrence here) and change the last two symbols to "10" again. Save the changes.
This is it. Then you just follow the WifiMAX guide from step 10 and you should be golden. )
BTW, thanks to XLink development and support crew. Great job, guys!
P.S. I wonder if anybody can update the compatibility topic to include this adapter. |
