Of course theres no need to update everyday, and judging by the posts in this forum I'm convinced most don't Wink We don't issue builds as such, we just keep updating the source code as we work on it. Its up to you (the community) how frequently you create builds. As a result you get to enjoy Kai functionality quicker (at least you have the choice if you wish) and you get to feedback into the development process - whereas with closed-development dashes you have no guarantees of which features will be released, or when.

Yeah, that's true...but i have a complex where i MUST have new versions of everything!!! Laughing But you're right...

quick question...if i do set XBMC as my dash, will my IGR work with it? Meaning, will it work like it does with evox (my dash now)...only booting back to XBMC as opposed to evox...I wasn't sure if IGR's were specific to certain programs, or if it was bios related...

Laughing

IGR is an undocumented feature/hack and none of the other dev teams have disclosed how it works, so its a real pain to understand how it may interact with XBMC.

For the record though, I'm using a recent X2 bios with IGR and XBMC successfully - not so long ago there was a reported problem (I didn't manage to reproduce it myself), but the fix I checked in seems to have done the trick.

Note: I believe there is a software version of IGR that EvoX implements - but it isn't quite as robust as the X2 bios IGR in that some compatibility problems with games have been reported.

If IGR is present in the bios it works if you set XBMC as the dash (using it here with no problems). I know for one that Evox wouldn't let you IGR if you were actually at the Evox menus (probably some sort of protection thing so they got you to use their own IGR which was buggy and crap).

I set XBMC as my dash...but the IGR doesn't work...(at least the one i used with evox---L triggger+R trigger+BACK+START---not sure if i need to change or tweak a setting somewhere...

ALSO, is there a way to get "GAMES" listed on the main XBMC screen? Or better yet, anyone know of a link that will explain how to completely "edit" the XBMC menus, i.e. maybe list My Pictures under My Files, etc. I'll look around...

Yeah like I said:

- EvoX implements soft-IGR (compatiblity issues with some games).

- XBMC doesn't 'do' IGR.

Solution:

- Use a recent Xecuter 2 bios and you get 'firmware' IGR - which is an even better solution than EvoX.

As for XBMC configuration, try the online manual (forget the link now) or ask in #xbmc on IRC, or the forums.

^^^ Which is what I said by saying it's in the BIOS (X2). EvoX only do software IGR which is crap Smile

Not yet, but if I get a chance I'll try and sort it out so that you can do something like f:\games;g:\another_games_folder;
