Is your network reachable? no, "not yet"
Are you using a port-forward? yes
Is your console being detected? yes
Brief description of your network setup: Cable modem --> Dlink router --> linksys router --> Xbox & PC
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? i have norton internet security with the firewall disabled
Operating System? XP
Problem description? it says that my console config is correct, I can see the hosted games though kai on my pc, but i can't see them from my xbox though system link. I know the problem is that my network is unreachable, but i have done all the port forwarding on both routers --- UDP, port 30000, ip of my PC. i appreciate your help

You need to portforward 30000 UDP from the Dlink router to the Linksys router's IP. Then from the Linksys router, to the PC's IP. |

ok, i changed the DLink router --> forwards to Linksys router --> PC
DLink: 192.168.0.1
Linksys: 192.168.1.1
PC: 192.168.1.100
still doesn't work...still network unreachable
are the ips (linksys/PC) actually the same? is that the problem? |

No, 1.100 is different to 1.1
You sure those are how you put them in? |

I just checked again to be sure, those are exactly as i put them, and my Xbox is at 192.168.1.2
I would show you the screens from the router setup, but it won't let me paste the pictures into this message. I don't understand what else the problem could be...[/img] |

Use http://www.imageshack.us for image hosting, I'd lke to see the pics on both routers (or you can just hit me up on MSN for some Remote Assistance). |

network everywhere/linksys:
take a look at these...i can't see where I am going wrong. If there are any other shots that would help us figure this out let me know and i'll get them up as soon as I can. |

All seems well. The only thing that could be going wrong there is that you use DHCP and the PC is no longer 192.168.1.100 as you might think it is.
I could Remote Assistance with you to just take a peek as well. |

I don't understand how my PC could be something other than 192.168.1.100 ... ipconfig says thats what it is... but im not sure about the remote assistance. how does that work exactly...it may be the only way to get this resolved. |

If you reboot your router or whatever, and devices are assigned IP's by DHCP, your XBox might be turned on first. This would reserve 192.168.1.100 to the XBox. The PC might come on next. This would become 192.168.1.101. |

ok...i tried changing the forwarding to 192.168.1.101 from 192.168.1.100. Kai wouldn't even start when i treid that, so i rebooted, and Kai started but network still unreachable. This is beginning to seem like an impossible task that will never work. |
