Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker

My friend and I are trying to play this game. It's ad-hoc only, obviously, so we need to be able to connect to do versus/co-op. Our setup went fine. Our psps are detected and we're connected to the psp's network. We've both tried hosting games, gone on the same channel and searched for hosts but none come up. What are we doing wrong?

Peace Walker uses an SSID swap to connect (as far as I know) so it's never going to be easy. I suggest trying a different game if you've got it, just to be sure it does work, then go back to MGS when you're both sure your PSP's are connected to Kai.
