I have 2 xboxes, 2 farcry games, 1 tv. I'd like to split screen the 2 xboxes or in other words split screen two video inputs on my tv.

I've searched all the keywords I could think of on the internet to find a device that does this, but can't find anything. I'd like to buy a device that will put two video signals on split screen on my tv.

If someone could tell me what such a device is called, where to buy one, or how to make one... that would be great! Smile

i use an audio/video switch. You can get them anywhere: http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10059653&catid=21313

If you can find one with a remote control, buy it. I hate getting up and pushing that damn button. Laughing

you could always get a capture card for your pc and do it that way, thing is for each video you would need a capture card, to be cheap i would get the 30 to 40 dollar usb capture cards they have on sell they except coax, s-video and standard RCA jacks.

Are you sure that will split screen two video inputs? (show two video inputs at the same time on the tv) I've seen a bunch of those "splitters" on the internet but all they do is allow you to switch from one input to the other...

That won't split video. It'll just allow you to plug bunches of things in and funnel it into one video input. You are able to use one switch at a time. You won't be able to split video onto one screen at the same time. I don't think so at least. Some tvs support picture in picture but thats about the closest thing you'll get to splitting the screen and running two inputs at the same time. At least thats what I think you are trying to do.

Yep you got it! Smile That's what I want to do is put two inputs on my tv at the same time...
I already know my TV doesnt have this feature, but thats where I thought the device would come in. Isn't that something feasible that a device can do, stream two inputs into a tv?

Well, I did some more searching and finally did stumble on a matching keyword, I've seen some devices that are called:
quad screen splitters
dual screen splitters
quad digital screen splitters
PIP (picture in picture)

Cheapest one I've seen is $87 from amazon... I have some spare video cards from computers..hmm.. maybe its not too hard to take two video cards and make this yourself?

$12 at dealextreme.com http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5707

I bought one of these and damn, it's worth it. The picture quality is better than my $80 capture card.

This + Pc + USB = TV for $12
