Running Windows 7 32 bit here. You can also choose Vista Service Pack 2 from the compatibility drop down. Works for me.
I disabled UAC so it wasn't necessary to run as administrator.
Lastly, you will need to disable your firewall in services to do a valid test. Just turning it off most likely leaves the service running and Xlink still won't load. |

hey guys, this might be a bit late BUT I HAVE A POSSIBLE SOLUTION!
i just solved this problem on my own
ok, the problem (for me anyway) was that i wasnt running xlink kai as administrator
so to solve this, right click start kai > run as > click administrator and type in your password. [note if it doesnt work, then leave it blank, if still doesnt work then continue]
if u dont remember your password or it isnt working (this happened to me and took ages to figure it out) then do the following:
restart your computer in safe mode (press F8 during startup)
sign in as administrator [if u cannot, then i cannot help you further...sorry]
once in, go to control panel, then user accounts...then either remove, or create an administrator password that you wont forget.
now restart as your normal account, and run as administrator with your new password and viola! it works hope this solved any problems!
