Just had a nice frustrating hour of trying to install some drivers that actually have psp xlink mode on Windows 7.
7, much like every other MS OS, doesn't do what its told. I tried compatability mode but Windows thought it would be best to overwrite my choice of driver and ignore me completely.
To get the WN727N working I had to go to device manager -> properties (for what was detected as a generic USB wifi dongle) -> driver tab -> update driver -> browse -> let me pick from a list -> then browse to the "WINX64" folder which came with the driver download (link below) and double click the driver file.
No other drivers will work and the ones that are installed automatically when using the TP-Link installer are Vista drivers. These DO NOT include the PSP XLink mode.
I have bought one, but I can't install the 'WINX64' drivers. It tells me that the best driver is already installed. Please, how to install XP drivers on Win 7??
Thanks.
