Whenever I start kai (startkai or configurekai) it comes up with the error "Unable to initialize PSSDK library". Although I can start kai user interface, it seems to be stuck on loading "kai engine"

I just downloaded Kai today, on my PC laptop with Windows 7 32bit, I downloaded the XP/Vista link

Make sure that you are running Kai as administrator:

Go to Start Kai -> Right Click -> Properties ->

Then:
-> Shortcut -> Advanced -> Run as Administrator
-> Compatability -> Priveledge Level -> Run as Administrator

(Try enabling both of those and see if that works)

I have the same problem here, every time I run the Kai, an error message appears, "Unable to initialize PSSDK library"...
I'm running the Xlink Kai windows version,
and my laptop is using Windows XP Service Pack 3

Image

Problem is, as noted in the screen above, there is no option to set the compatibility to Windows XP @_@...
Is this caused by the Service Pack 3?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

In XP simply right click Start Kai and click Run As Administrator

You can't run the Xp compatibility on a Windows Xp. Service pack 3 is just an upgraded service pack 2 and should not alter the compatibility.

Apparently, turning the firewall and the antivirus off helped this guy.

But if it doesn't for you, then you could try to install Packet Sniffer in its trial version and see what it gives. Not sure if it has a time limit or not.
