Is your network reachable?
Yes
Are you using a port-forward?
Yes
Is your console being detected?
Yes
Brief description of your network setup:
First configuration: Xbox --->wired--->AccessPoint---->wireless--->windows system with kai engine--->wireless-->linux box (gateway)
Second configuration: Xbox --->wired--->AccessPoint---->wireless--->linux box (gateway with kaid engine)
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it?
iptables on linux box. Configuration seems to be ok
access point: dlink 2000ap+
wireless adapter: dlink dwl520+ (it can work in promiscous mode, I tried it successfully with ethereal)
Operating System?
window system: windows XP home edition
Linux box: gentoo 2004.2
Problem description?
With first configuration all seems ok, but I can't see any games; I tried halo e rainbow six 3 black arrow.
With second configuration network is not unrecheable but xbox is detected, maybe a kaid bug?

I meant *all* cables. From teh PC t the linux box is where you need the cable. Your network card doesnt' support promiscious mode. That's why XBox Live works, and Kai doesn't (any other tunnelling app wouldn't work either).
Promiscious mode is where a network card can sniff *all* traffic on a network, not just the stuff that's sent to it. For wireless cards, they seem to disable this feature (for security I suppose). Not much you can do but hardwire the PC to the Linux box. |

it's strange because with ethereal I can sniff any packet on wireless lan; so my card should support promiscous mode.
Anyway, when I find the cable I'll do this try
