Japanese text scrambled?

I would like to play with the japanese folks on xlink but whenever they type to me it shows up with random symbols. I tried setting my mac to japanese text itself with the international tab and no luck, and i also tried setting the language setting to japanese in the xlink client to japanese as well, but that didnt work either, everything but what they typed to me was in japanese. does anyone else have a similar issue? is there anyway to fix this?

I have a problem of using WebUI on MacOSX.
When multi-byte character set go through WebUI, they always get garbled.

I think Kaiengine.app has the glitch about multi-byte processing.
