Hi,
I am trying to connect my Xbox360 with Xlink via my Macbook. The Macbook is online via WLAN and the Box is connected with the Mac via ethernet.
After some trying the Xbox now gets detected in Xlink and I can find System Link games.
Unfortunately I can't connect though. It most probably does not work because Xlink displays "reachable: not yet". Port forwarding can't be an issue, as the IP is static and it works on my Windows PC. I also tried enabling uPNP, still without success.
The Macs Firewall is disabled.
Edit: Ok must be something else. I waited a few minutes and now it says "reachable: yes".

Any ideas?

Another small issue I came across: When registering, you are allowed to enter german umlauts (like รค) as password. But those do not work with the Kaiengine and the forums.

Thanks for your reply, I am using the version linked in your post for Snow Leopard.
The Interface says it is reachable and I can find open games. But the attempt to join seems to time out.

Does it say 1...2...3...4...Failed to connect to host ?

If that is the case , then read this :

Well it does not count up, it simply says "connecting" for a few seconds and then shows "could not connect". The game I was trying to play is Blur.
I am running a jtagged console with the ping patch installed, so that should be no problem. Also it worked fine with the older Version running on Windows.

Thanks for your reply!
Ok I already thought that there might be an issue with WLAN.
Strange is that it is almost working as I can see the games in the list sometime.

Maybe it could help to use the WLAN driver included in Kismac which supports promiscuous mode?

I will try a few things later today and let you know.

Sorry to bother you again, but I still can't get it to work.
I changed the connection, now both Xbox and Mac are connected directly to the cable ethernet.
But I still can not connect to any game I see.

In Modern Warfare 2 it just counts up an then says could not connect.
The same server works fine when kai 7.3 is running on my pc. So the ping patch must be working fine.
Right now I am experimenting to use the Kai engine implemented in my DD-WRT Router. Same shit there, games show up but I can not connect.

- If it count's up , then your ping is bad . Needs to be under 30 to the host.
- Maybe you did not install the ping patch correctly. Did you flash your Jtag and installed Dashlaunch as well ?

- If Kai 7.3 worked for you , then switch back to that version .

Well as I said, I have a Jtagged console with the ping patch installed. The same server works fine on the other computer. I already played with a people having a ping of over 100.

I would like to get it to work under Mac OS X because I want to give the PC away.
Unfortunately, version 7.3 does not seem to work on Snow Leopard.

Ok , i don't really know what the problem is on your part .
I run the 7.4.18 version of kai on my Mac Mini OS X 10.6.4 & have no problems at all .

Here is how i connected everything :

Modem -> network cable -> Mac Mini -> USB Network cable -> Xbox 360 .

And it works like a charm .

I'll guess wireless on a Mac does not work with Xlink .
