Hello everyone. As you might know, certain dynamic SSID games are said to work with AdhoctoUSB.prx when used in unison with XLinkAid.prx. However, since XLinkAid's creator didn't make the plugin with USB support in mind, there are still many things we don't know about game compatibility and functionality. That's where we come in.
Our goal is simple: study the functionality of both these plugins, and create a list of Dynamic SSID games which work via this method. Right now, I'm interested in testing Dissidia (confirmed working with this method), MGS PW (Said to have issues with this method), Ace Combat Joint Assault, Valkyria Chronicles II, and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, in order to know what this plugin combination can and cannot do.
In any case, if you're interested on helping in this endeavour, please reply to this thread orsend me a PM. I hope we can get to the bottom of this and find a stable method for people who use AdhoctoUSB.prx to play Dynamic SSID games. |

I have my doubts on BBS too, but it never hurts to try. So far, we have single-swap games (Valkyria Chronicles, Dissidia), games with two swaps (Ace Combat), and lots of swaps (BBS). The first tests should be in single SSID games (hence why Dissidia is a good starting point). In any case, what other games are confirmed to work with SSID swapping? Hopefully we could get to test most of them. |

No but don't waste your time with Dissidia unless you want to play it. It already had been reported as working for a while now and yet many people use it daily.

God Eater. They made a special plugin for it tho: http://bbs.celes-network.de/psp/special-xlink-aid-plugin-t44.html
I guess PW works fine too since the way it acts SSIDs wise is the same as Dissidia (one for the lobby and an another depending on the host). The failures reported might have been pbkacs. |

I actually wanted to try Dissidia out because I have not yet gotten to use XLinkAid plugin for myself. Additionally, I'd like to see what happens should both players use XLinkAid without setting up autotext (in order to see if "keeping the same SSID" would make this work like a single SSID game) |

I don't think it will work, because Coldbird said that both of the players that want to play with each other needs each other's MAC adress and the last digits of the SSID. |

That is probably true. However, it's worth a try. I mean, we won't really know what the plugin is and isn't capable of unless we try to exhaust every single function possibility. So yeah, I'm not expecting much from that experiment, but hey, who knows? |

I can't test it with you because my internet is very slow at the moment... |

DrNewDCD wants to kinda make a testing team for a plugin (Xlink Aid Plugin). |

well, me and a few people tried to get BBS to work. We could see each other in the "lobby" but we just could do an event like battle, arena, command, and racing. |

Same exactly happened to me with the adapter.
@DrNewDCD
I won't have to say it all over again...
Dissidia works perfectly fine with Xlinkaid and adhoctousb. In this game, you only need your opponent's mac address which you insert into the SSID's regular layout and then, you put all of this into the .txt, exactly as shown in their guide thus I don't know what you read about not "having to open the autotext" or whatsoever. It can only work in an adapter's user/plugin's user configuration with the adapter's users being the hoster tho as Annhell reported it before. It doesn't work with two plugin's users on both sides.
At the end, you have one of the easiest SSID swapping games to play with. I can tell since I played with three people who were using this without any problem.
You can still give it a try if you like but that would be to get your hands on the thing, not as a "tester". |

I thought this was about Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. Look for another thread to ask this question.
anyway, have they found a solution for KH:BbS yet? |

Just saw many people playing this on both AHP (european and american) which means this game can't be allergic of tunneling thus Kai in itself can't be the reason of the problem. Although, considering the troubles people had to play properly when being too far away from each other, I guess it has a ping restriction like Tekken 5 Dark Revolution, understand that the ping you are having with the others have to be very low (<100ms or something).
Guy I tried with and I referred to in my previous post shared a 130ms ping with me and he did know about how to SSID swap, he got the SSID and such when the game started but nothing happened in the aftermath. But the SSID swapping method shouldn't be given up without having tried it with a low ping.
There remains Xlinkaid too of course, problem is that BBS SSIDs don't depend on the mac address. They are completely made up on which mode of the game you are in: arena mode, versus...even WHICH arena you are in matters (trial, etc.). Therefore, you would have to enter the SSID of the mode you want to play before running the game and have to quit the game to enter a new one if you want to play an another mode. This will really be uncomfortable to apply, even more than Dissidia and might not work considering the first sentence of the paragraph. However, theory isn't always relevant. I believed for a long time that Xlinkaid wouldn't have been of any help for Dissidia's white screen while it actually solved it. |
