btw this might be interesting to some people:
On the warppipe forum a week ago someone posted a privet site for nintendo u gota be a dev or work for nintendo to go there he also posted an account name and pass. At this site in clear letters at the NINTENDO HOMEPAGE MARIO TENNIS (new one for gc) : BROADBAND ADAPTER. ^.^ that would be awesome i hope they dont take that support out. |

Yeah, it needs to handle Ping up to at least 50ms at full speed. If Nintendo puts time into the LAN elements, then it will work fine. LAN was na afterthought in the current games. |

nope not an afterthought. it was by design... who the heck knows why they would do it the way they do! that's why you wont see many LAN games for the GC, the devs dont support how nintendo has chosen to impliment thier LAN play. |

Well if it has LAN, it most likely won't be, there is hardly any lag on a LAN. |

Feel free to post the link - I dont mind links to WPP board articles, as long as they're relevant to GCN, not just stupid flames

i'm kinda glad that the GC does 10mbs lan instead of 100mbs. obviously the kai guys (or anyone who knows a bit about system link) will be able to clarify this, but i reckon GC lan games would probably be better online than xbox and ps2 games as they use 10/100 so there's a lot of bandwidth that the game developers could use for system linking.
needs more games online though i think, but having said that i can get my online fill on my xbox or ps2 i guess, although i'd like to get a GC again in the summer and get it online asap... |

actually that's not correct.
even though xbox uses a 10/100 connection most games arent going to even use 1mb let alone 10
its all poor implimentation on nintendo's part |

ya but they still could have / should have optomized it
and if they wont, they should allow the game devs to impliment thier own netcode
so i stand by poor implimentaton by ninty
so sad i have always been a nintendo fan and was a HUGE n64 fan
but so far the gc hasnt seemed to me like there hsa been much improvement |

i have tried 1080 online and it is pretty ping friendly however their are very common linking errors and it is quite unstable on BOTH .4 and kai. I am borrowing KAR but i cant find anyone who i cant test it with.
CALL OUT to all people who live in souther california and who have Kirby Air Ride to test its online capailities.
