R6 3 and XBL updates

Well i finally got Xlink to start working and want to play some r6 3.... but i have all the xbox live updates. When i try and join it starts loading but then shoots me back to the start screen.... is this because of my XBL updates? Or should i see some message sugessting that i'm using a different version?

If it is the updates, can someone give a quick explaintion as how to get rid of them without getting rid of the downloaded maps?

I think it is the updates, but I am not sure.

I had the same problem as you when I tried to sys-link in my house, I just updated the other xbox to the same version as the other and now they work fine.

yup it's the updates defenitely!
try to get two versions of rb6, one with patch for xbl and one without it just for sys link!

yeah a brief explanation for those who dont know how to remove the update would be quite helpful...i've seen this asked many a time before...

ftp to you box and delete the contents of this folder:
/E:/TDATA/55530013/

Then you will be back in action!

Just some further questions? How did u know that it was that 555 folder under the TDATA folder? Did u use some application? This will not remove any of the levels i downloaded from XBL? Should i backup my HD to my pc before trying this just incase?

what about people with non modded boxes?

It may possibly be in the original XBox dashboard under memory management.

i'm assuming this response if for the non-modded xbox....

just dont want to loose all the levels i downloaded but i want to play with everyone on Kai as well.

Ya, I would backup the files you delete just in case something happens or it doesnt even work.

Also, I have the same problem for Crimson Skies where it just freezes up when trying to log onto someone's game in Kai. My version has the latest updates.

Does anyone know where to remove those at? I am guessing they are also in the E:/Tdata folder somewhere?

what about people with non modded boxes?

They are kind of SOL if they play live ... they need to find other people who play live and have non modded boxes to play with on Kai.

If you delete the contents of that folder YOU WILL LOOSE ALL UPDATES ... if you go to www.r63.net you can download the map manager and get the maps back!!

Do you know how people know what folders are for what game in the TDATA directory? Since they are all numbers how would u know?

Go here: http://www.xbox-saves.com/ - it will make your life much easier (if you have a modded xbox) Razz

NP! As far as knowing what folder try out ... http://www.xbox-saves.com/index.php?category=manager I think when the game is ftped from your box it copies the whole entire folder from your xbox.

just removing or renameing that file will work on the first up date and up to the meat packing map. The second update and all the maps after that are diffrent and it's not that easy to make them compatible. Sorry Crying or Very sad

I mean, it seems like there has to be a way for non modded box users to get rid of those updates easily.

i assume

since my box is modded, i am just asking on behalf of those with non modded boxes.... i've met a lot on live that wish to play, but dont yet have a chip or understand how to mod Smile
