This is in regards to the earlier posts, regarding Xport's emus.
Currently, you cannot autodetect the remote locale's IP addy, but if you can get them to tell you what it is, and you MAKE SURE to keep your IP info clean on the submenus of whichever xport emu you choose... you can certainly netplay with his emus.
I wish I had tried this before. I was so used to static IPs doing the trick, I completely missed TD's posting, regarding IP's and how they relate to configuration.
I'm a raging tool.

Thats right - I'm going to find time to have a chat with XPort someday - as the way Kai assigns homebrew IP's to xboxes (10.252.X.Y) - means that he can easily use subnet broadcasting to autodetect other consoles

Thank you for putting up with my tool-ness. I thought, because I had got it to work the first night, that something had broken it... turns out something HAD, but it was bound to happen. Anyhow, other than the fact that Xport's emus have no autodetect function yet (as you and I have noted), it also seems as though there's an absolutely stupid amount of lag for so little data input... like the engine is running far too hard for what it's trying to process through the packets, making things incredibly sluggish on a relatively low ping situation. Perhaps it's time for a general cleanup of the netplay code or something?
I'm such an ingrate.
