All,
I used to use the old Kai portion of XBMC all the time and was hugely saddened to find out that it is no longer available. I am willing to look into creating a script to handle Kai from within XBMC if enough people are interested. Please let me know if you would benefit and would actually use it. |

I was looking into making something like this but have no idea where to start when making a script.
It's great that someone is willing to take this on, go for it man!
P.S. I suggest you use the UDP kai ui protocol. Feel free to ask me anything about it. |

I apologize for the lack of updates/progress so far. Am in the process of changing jobs, moving and selling my house...all while being armpit deep in the holidays. Anyway, enough excuses...Here is what everyone is interested in. So far so good. I am about 1/2 way through porting libkaiui to python. I do have a working prototype that that connects successfully to a local kaid engine and lists moderators and admins. I have not gotten up the marbles up to test directly on the XBox yet. I realize that this doesn't sound like much, but keep in mind that I'm learning python as I go and I am working at porting the code from C (which I havent used since college). Anyway, just thought I would let everyone know where things currently stand. Also, I am looking for ideas on how you would like the UI laid out. Anyone willing to take some time to put together some storyboards would be much appreciated! |

just stumbled across this thread and am delighted to hear of such a great idea. gave me goose bumps.
any more progress?
as for ideas about the interface, i think the original xbmc / xlink kai (PM3) interface worked very well and should be achievable through a script.
however PM3.HD is much nicer and im a graphic designer so i am willing to help out with any new graphic needs. although the textures form xbmc are all open source. |

I'd love to have such a script. I want to run the kai engine on my router so using a script on xbmc would be awesome. Please keep up the work on it! |

Sorry buddy, that method is unsupported, unreliable, and is soon going to be impossible. Once kai 7.4 is out of beta all previous versions are going to be disabled, including the versions that run on routers. |

If you have given up (hopefully not!) I'll gladly continue the project. |

would be great if you could pick this up as it looks like fade2blk9 has done a vanishing trick on us after getting us all excited. |
