OK....I know this problem has been posted before, but I think I've looked through all the posts/help/faqs and still have can't get this to work. I'm trying to connect a Linksys WET11 to my xbox. My PC is hard wired to the router. This use to work prefectly in the older verion of xlink (where it did the MAC cloning automatic). It also appears that when I have the xbox hard wired it works fine....Kai sees the xbox and the network is reachable. Seems problem only exsists when I hook up the xbox with the WET11 bridge. I have updated both the router and bridge to the latest fireware. I did the wireless translation...got the MAC address of the xbox from Kai when xbox was hard wired, got MAC of bridge from bottom label (matches to the config screen of the bridge). I also tried to forward port 30000 UDP to the IP address of my PC. When I hook up the bridge my dashboard does receive an IP address. Here is some more info:
Is your network reachable? No
Are you using a port-forward? Yes, port 30000 UDP
Is your console being detected? No
Brief description of your network setup: linksys router - BEFW11S4 v.2, Linksys WET11 Bridge v2, PC hard wired to router.
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? Usually do but I shut it down when using kai.
Operating System? Win XP SP2
Problem description? Can't connect using wet11 bridge.
[KaiUserConfig]
kaiPort=30000
kaiDeepPort=0
kaiAccept=LOCAL
kaiTimeout=NOUI
kaiNIC=0
kaiLaunch=BOTH
kaiHomebrew=OFF
kaiPAT=OFF
kaiAutoLogin=ON
kaiAllowBadNICS=OFF
kaiWireless=000D3A832BCF;000C41B6C54F;
kaiUI=Default
I tried everything i could think of. Please let me know if you have anyother suggestions. Thanks. |

wet11's are bitches
Upgrade your firmware: How? I never could get it to work, but it seems like this has helped a few people out ..
Network detected : Routers need to forward ports go to IE/Mozilla and type 192.168.1.1 >>forward >> Then forward your ports (3000) UDP STYLE |

Upgrading the firmware was easy. I just download the exe file from the linksys site and it went smooth after that....but didnt help me with my kai problem.
I'm not sure what you're talking about...i'm already forwarding port 30000 on UDP through my router....hasnt helped me either. |

ok havent received any responses. If the setup with the wet11 isn't the best, can you recommend a setup that would work better? If possible i prefer linksys products. Thanks. |

There are a few revisions of the WET11 out there, some work well, some work not so well, adn some dont' work at all
To get the console detected: on the WET11 control panel, clone the XBox MAC as the MAC of the WET11. Remove the wireless relationship from Kai.
To get the network reachable: Check the port forward on the router is pointing to the correct IP (double, triple check), also make sure it's 30000 UDP. You might also like to try it with PAT turned on and see if you get it working then - I doubt it, but try. |

hey...thanks for the help. It worked like a charm...all i had to do was clone the XBox MAC as the MAC of the WET11 like you said.
Cheers! |
