I have tried it all. I have even asked for help from others. I was able to play Halo 1 but now I can't even play that.( I want to play Halo 2) I am Using Win2000-Pro, I have a Westell-DSL modem, and a Comp_USA 4-Port broadband Router. I use Macaffee Firewall, but that was set to allow all, so it was "disabled". Any suggestions?

Is your network reachable? No
Are you using a port-forward? No
Is your console being detected? Yes
Brief description of your network setup: Westell-DSL Modem, Comp-Usa-4-port router, PC and XBox are hardwired to the router.
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? Macaffee Firewall-Set to allow all
Operating System? Windows2000-Pro
Problem description? KAI says Xbox configure correctly but network remains not reachable.

Okay sounds like you need to port forward. Log into your router and open port 30000 UDP for the Computers IP running Kai. Then open the XLink Kai config tool and change the Kai port to 30000, change the KaiNIC to the NIC in your PC, save and close all windows and load the app. Report back when complete.

You need to port forward. Considering the modem does the logging in, you'll probably need to set up a virtual server on the modem on 30000 UDP that points to the router's IP. From the router, you then do a portforward to the IP of the PC that runs Kai, also on 30000 UDP. Then in the Kai Config. Tool put '30000' in Kai Port.

http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm

Find yours there if you can. All routers have default IPs, and it's generally a whole company uses the same default IP in all it's routers. ie. Linksys use 192.168.1.1, DLink use 192.168.0.1, some use 10.0.0.1 etc etc.

You were correct, the router IP is 192.168.8.1. Now I have to go into my modem setup and configure that. I have pasted a link below to a page that I just assembled with all my router and modem setup pages (well most of them) From these pages can you tell me what I need to do now?

According to the images, the DSL modem doesn't have any options to forward ports (so by default it would leave all ports open - until requests hit the router, which then does the security stuff).

You've got a port-forward in there. That looks fine to me *AS LONG* as the PC you run Kai on is indeed 192.168.8.17

If that's cool, then you've also got to remember to put '30000' into Kai Port in the Kai Config. Tool. After that, run Kai, enter Arena mode, and check for network reachable.
