Hi all, having problem as the above subject mentioned. I got 2 PSP with 2 PC connected with 2 different xtag account for my wife and myself. When we try to log in, one of us will experience 'detach from engine' or 'orbital syn lost' .

In summary, its either i can log in or only she can log in. If both log in to xlink kai.. someone bound to get DC in 5 mins or so.. We can see other players if only connect 1 PSP to 1 PC. . but why is it so? Both PSP and PC are working fine.. only comes to logging into xlink kai, the problem occurs.. any help is truly greatly appreciated.

Do you have an engine running on each computer, or just running one for the network?

Theres also bandwidth problems cuz theres all kinds of players online.

I have 2 kai engine running separately on each PC, sharing same router. Network connection both assigned by DHCP. . . as we have 3 PC (PC1, PC2 & PC3)

PC1 --->
Linksys router -----> PC 2 --> PSP 1
l
-----> PC 3 ---> PSP 2

I've try starting up the PC 2 first and connect kai engine to PSP1 and tried doing quest for 1 round. Works fine.

But when i try to start up PC 3 subsequently, PSP 2 with another kai engine running will not be able to see players or get communication error. So starting up 1 PC and linking up the PSP one at a time dont work.

Its a vice versa theory, either one can log in and play without any problem but not both together. Any clue?

*Note: PC1 got nothing to do with PSP / Kai connection as it belongs to my in-law.

only engines running on a direct connection to the router will function correctly with the engine. so an engine running on a wireless laptop/pc wont work. it has to be physically plugged into the router. have you tried running 2 PSPs off one engine?

running 2 PSP on one kai account? dont think will work. If u mean using both PSP 1 & 2 on PC2/PC3 one at a time, yes. It work perfectly fine. Here is the case where only 1 PSP can play only on either PC 2 or PC3. Both PC 2 & 3 are direct connected with the router, thats why i have no issues if only connect one PSP... but problem occurs when we connect both PSP into PC2 & 3, only 1 PSP can log in and the other become ghost, cant see player and kept getting Detached from engine. Depends on who log in first, if i log in first, the second PSP logging to other PC will end up DC and see no players.

I followed this link :
http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39808

I did every step except port forwarding part as its my In-Law PC1 that have the entry into Linksys router setting and it requires his password to configure his router setting. No chance at all...and I only own PC2 & 3 direct connection from router. Thus... skipped step 33 - 39.

However, in metric on Kai engine. Network reachable : Yes.

Any other idea? Thanks for your time tho. Even if end thread still cant work, really appreciate your time and effort trying to help.

i have had multiple consoles connected to the same engine on one computer. these were xboxs and we were playing halo 2.

so it doesnt matter which one connects first the second one always drops connection?
hmm

maybe the system wont run 2 psps on one engine.

try this, try launching one engine, connecting one psp to it. then once that one is good to go, launch the second engine on the other PC and connected the second psp and see if thats possible. they might be trying to register both consoles on two different engines at the same time. which i think would cause a boot cuz of duplicate mac addresses.

I'm not exactly an expert, but my guess is that you can't run two engines on one network. You need to run one engine on one PC, enable 'remote UI connections' on that engine, and then have the second PC connect to the first PC's engine remotely.

This topic may be of more help.

I'm sort of late in this thread, but this is what I think;

xLink Kai should work fine on a computer connected directly to the internet, i.e. directly to the modem. You could, for example, have two LAN cards in a PC, one connected directly to the internet, the other connected to a switch, connected to your console. The PC can forward packets from one adapter to the other. Essentially what I'm trying to get at, is the router isn't necessary to have the engine running.

The only way I can imagine the router is causing complications with two instances of the Kai engine on the same network, is that they are trying to both use the same ports. This creates a conflict. Set up one of the kai engines to use a different port, then port forward both ports in your router. Make sure you forward the ports to the right IPs.

If my theory is correct, this should work fine. Let us know how it goes!
