this is my first post sori for all trouble

well i have 2 question hope somebody can give me clue is this wrong or true :

modem _(using usb cable)____>pc_____(using lan cable)____>ps3
(the problem for somehow i can get ps 3 acces the internet but i sure i already turn internet sharing on)

MOdem____(using usb cable)___> pc

l_____(using lan kable)___>ps3
(well this my ps3 cant connect internet very easy no problem at all, the problem is in the diagnosa from xlink kai there are two number which have diffrent colour one is red one is blue in the place where the console will be recognized by the xlink kai
WHICH ONE IS THE CORRECT SETTING ?????/
