Not sure I follow man, if they pop up on your screen. Don't you choose what one to join? |

Ha, sorry, bad job of explaining.
I will open Xlink Kai, and keep it on the main Halo 2 Arena page, and games pop up onto my TV screen that I didn't click. However, if I click to go into a private arena, nothing pops up on my television. |

Okay most likely the private arena is because no one is set their status to hosting. Do you see a Red House looking icon on the arena owners name by chance? |

No red house. And these are rooms my friends call and tell me to join so I can play with them. They're accessible by anyone. |

Alright, now it won't even let me join games that pop up on my screen. It says "UNABLE TO JOIN: You can't join this party. Please wait a moment and try again later."
This is odd, because I could at least play those games last night. |

Yeah, ask the host to change their arena status to hosting. Then you will see the games. It is easy to forget to do that so I do not believe you have a connection or application problem. But just in case, can you join a room that has someone’s user Icon as hosting to assure you are working properly? |

I can't join any rooms. I know I should be able to join them though because I play at my friends house. I open a room, it shows all of the users, their pings, etc, but it just doesn't pop up on my TV. |

Okay man, can you type in the chat in those rooms? If so get a hold of the host and ask him to change his status to "hosting" and then see if the game shows on the TV. |

It's not the hosts problem, there are 9 other people in the room playing with him. ANY GAME. |

Dude, you are replying way to fast to do any of the stuff I asked you to do. I will be home in 2 hours and when I do we will speak on MSN so if you don't have it, please download and get MSN 6.2. At that time I will make sure it all works for you. |

I know how bad this may sound, but I know I don't have to ask the host to set his status to hosting. I went to a friends, played in a room. Came to my house, and couldn't get in. |

I know this may sounds strange but 9 people may be able to connect to a game when a user doesn't have there status set to hosting, but 1 user still may need it in order to connect. Maybe this is the problem, maybe it is not. Once I get home from work I will get it all working. |

If you are not setting your status to hosting, the only time people will be able to see the game and join is during a time where the traffic being sent around is below the threshold that cuts you off from other users. For Halo 2, this is usually just after a game finishes at the game report screen with all the stats.
Apart from that, Norton may still be causing you some problems. Try uninstalling it and see if the problem still persists. |

Now other people still don't know how to fix this problem...
I got this message too:
UNABLE TO JOIN: You can't join this party. Please wait a moment and try again later.
Someone? |

If you're using Norton 2005 (even antivirus), it's got some worm protection crap that you need to disable. I still strongly suggest uninstalling all of that Norton crap and trying then. I'm almost 99.99% sure it's Norton's fault, uninstalling it would confirm that.
If it works with it uninstalled you can then put it on and take steps to get it working again.. |
