I recently discovered XLink Kai for playing Halo 2. I referred a friend of mine to XLink but he's having trouble connecting. His Xbox 360 is being recognized as a PSP for some odd reason. The network is also unreachable for him. He's tried almost everything to connect to Kai but no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions to get him connected to Kai?

He has a Windows Vista 32 Bit Laptop, some sort of Linksys router and a regular CAT-5 cable.

Edit: I referred him to this tutorial that I used for myself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKluYapt7h0

Is your network reachable? No
Are you using a router? Yes
Did you set a static IP on the PC running Kai? No
Did you forward port 30000 to the static IP? Forwarded that port but did not set a Static IP.
Did you click the globe after forwarding to see if your network goes reachable? Yes
What console are you using? Xbox360
Is your console being detected? Yes, as a PSP
Brief description of your network setup: Wireless laptop's connection is being shared to the 360 via CAT-5 cable.
Model numbers of the router, and modem? Linkysys WRT54GS
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? Windows Firewall, yes. Completely turned off.
Operating System? Windows Vista 32-bit
Problem description? Network is unreachable and the Xbox is being recognized as a PSP.

You have to set a static ip or the forwarded port does not know for which computer it should open the port. Heres a guide on how to setup a static ip on vista--> http://portforward.com/networking/static-vista.htm
If your friend is too lazy heres a tool that does the job--> http://portforward.com/help/setup_static_ip_address.htm
and just in case the port forwarding guide if he might need it again--> http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT54GS/Xlink_Kai.htm
and a port tester to see if the port is really open--> http://www.pcwintech.com/simple-port-tester
About the console being detected as a PSP is a glitch dont worry about just try to join a game and see if it works. One more thing please refrain from double posting in the forums. If the router supports upnp you wont have to do anything that i mentioned above just enable it and youre good to go.

Thank you, and sorry about that I didn't see the Help Request sub forum.
