hey guys...i was just curious but i was getting a "The service is not connected, would you like to attempt reconnecting it with xbox media center" before even when i followed the setup numerous times...the only program that i had running on my computer was zonealarm but i shut it down...when i rebooted my computer in safe mode then everything was cool...what could that mean?

Get CVS 29th Nov. and enable full debug logging in the .xml; if there are any further issues you'll be able to see if XBMC has anything to do with them.

You can compile it yourself, or try various "underground" places. Can't mention links or anything here for obvious reasons..
To compile yourself you'll need VS.NET 2003 and the XDK 5859 (that the one?) December 2003.
Or wait a few days and it ends up on XBins..

Safe mode eh?
I'm guessing some firewall is blocking the xbox's traffic (XBMC uses UDP broadcast to port 34522 - you gotta allow this shit to hit your PC).
