That problem seems to happen on debian based distros
Run this to fix the error: sudo mkdir /root/.xlink |

Thanks got it working. But metrics says its 7.4.28 still.
Is that normal??i thought it was 7.4.29 |

We might have forgotten to bump the version number on the pi build, oops! |

You need to create the .xlink directory manually.

You will need to change it via command line using the below (without the angled brackets).

sudo ./kaiengine --orb <ORB NAME HERE> |
The active orb names are listed below.
- ADVANCED_SYDNEY
- ADVANCED_LONDON
- ADVANCED_CHICAGO
- ADVANCED_OTTAWA
