Hi there,
we are experiencing some problems with one of our setups. Two setups went smooth without any problems, the third one wont work. This forum is our "last hope" Smile

Here are the requested informations:
> Is your network reachable?
Yes

> Are you using a router?
Yes

> Did you set a static IP on the PC running Kai?

No [as far as i no this is not a prerequisite]

> Did you forward port 30000 to the static IP?
Yes [forwarded to the ip of the pc running xlink]

> Did you click the globe after forwarding to see if your network goes reachable?
Yes

> What console are you using?
PS3

> Is your console being detected?
Yes

> Brief description of your network setup:
ps3 -> cable -> router
computer -> cable -> router

> Model numbers of the router, and modem?
Vodafone Easybox 803

> Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it?
No

> Operating System?
Win XP / MacOSX

> Problem description?
Everything seems to be running correctly and is connected.
Only the In-game Server search has no hits and does not find any hosted games by my friends. I can see them in the KAI-Engine, chat is also possible.
Tried 2 different OS (XP and OSX)
Games are the same (Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising, same BLES)
PS3 has the newest Firmware Update.
Two friends of mine can reach each other, we are all in messenger mode.
Same IP-adresse range (192.168.2.xxx), same IP-subnetmask.
No "IP-collisions".

# Set TCP port for Web UI connections (connect with http://localhost:[portnumber]/)

Can anybody help us out? We are out of ideas what may be wrong with this setup.

Thanks for any ideas!

edit:
I just read that Kai-Version 7.4.18 does not support the PS3. Maybe this is it... I'll keep you posted.

If you running XLink Kai on Mac OS that’s probably why it’s not working. Here is some of the options you got. You can run Windows, or Linux in virtual machine. Also dual booting is an option. The 7.4.26 Linux version can be find here.

If you running it on Windows you should check to make sure your PS3 getting assign IP address from XLink Kai. If it’s not you will probably need to manually enter in the XLink Kai IP address, and subnet. Subnet is 255.255.0.0 and you can get the IP address here http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/ps2assign.php

Thanks for your comment!
We will try the following in the next days:

1) Install Kai Version 7.0.0.7 on Mac OS

2) Check on Win-setup if the PS3 gets its IP correctly

3) Install a Win or Linux Version on the Mac

This will take some days due to our different work schedules but I will keep this post up-to-date as soon as we tried these options.

Thanks Smile

edit (19.02.):
We tried all options and here are the results:
1) couldn't find any installable version (we`d love to see the 7.3 mac version back online)
2) everything correct
3) our mac-buddy did not like this option

summed up: xlink kai still not working for our mac-buddy with the ps3.

workaround:
we tried xbslink, got it to work, but seems to be a bit unstable.

next options)
1) buy a random old laptop for little money to run xlink kai under xp

2) figure out how to stabilize xbslink

thanks for all the input!
