If your router supports UPnP mode, switch to enable it.

Try changing the port number 30000 to 0 in your kai config and then restart kai.

Hi, Upnp has always been enabled in it.

I tried changing it back to 0 again but that still didn't work. Any other suggestions please? Thanks.

Have you changed the windows firewall settings in your windows xp?

Choose your ethernet adapter from network adapter list in Kai config.

If your kaiHTTPPassword is same as the kaiPassword, you should change the password right now... And remove if from your first post.

After disabling UPnP in your router, reboot your router.

And then try changing kai port 0 to 30000 in your kai config and restart kai.

(Sorry for bad english Embarassed)

127.0.0.1 is NOT a routable IP adress ! Change it to 192.168.0.11 which is you computer's private IP now, then your network should be reachable, uPNP or Port forwading, no matter. But it is the first step ! Smile

Then you should give a static Private IP to your computer thanks to this page : http://screenshots.portforward.com/routers/Netgear/CG3000/MAC_Filtering.htm

How to find your computer's Private IP ?

You need your computer's MAC address :

I got no idea where that 127.0.0.1 came from.. it isn't there anymore as I disabled upnp. Isn't that 127.0.0.1 the IP of xlink or something like that?

I already had my computer set to a static ip address of 192.168.0.11.. which is why that appeared on that upnp shot when upnp was enabled.

Any other suggestions please?

Thanks.

If UPNP is disabled, you should port forward port 30000 to your computer (192.168.0.11)

http://www.wikihow.com/Find-the-IP-Address-of-Your-PC#Finding_Your_Windows_Internal_IP_Using_the_Command_Prompt_sub

What are the results of an "ipconfig /all" in a command prompt ?
(Win+R, cmd, ipconfig /all)

I did port forward it already, as it can be seen in one of the screenshots.

-I have Windows XP too, but our results are different : some important lines are missing in yours.

-Look at this picture :

DHCP enabled
Autoconfiguration enabled
Lease obtained
Lease expires
DHCP server : 192.168.0.1 (your router !)
--> Those lines are missing !

-Did you set a static private IP in Windows Xp or in your Router ?

-Is this page filled ?
http://screenshots.portforward.com/routers/Netgear/CG3000/Basic_Settings.htm

-Here some useful links :

--> Which is your setup ?

Step-by-step Troubleshooter (click it, then fill it)
http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/?go=help

If your Network Reachable reports as 'Not yet', you will *NOT* be able to play on Kai until you fix the problem. Being able to chat, enter arenas and see contacts *does not* mean your network is reachable. The main cause behind this is because your router is blocking communication. To solve this problem, you need to port-forward.

Port-forward port 30000 UDP and point it to the *local* IP address of the PC that runs the Kai Engine. There are hundreds of routers in the market, so step-by-step instructions on how to port-forward for your particular router will not be given here. Instead, we suggest you have a look at PortForward.com and follow the steps there.

Keep the following in mind:

• If your network devices are assigned their IP's by DHCP, there is a chance that your PC's local IP may change from time to time. In this case, the IP you point the port-forward to on the router will become invalid and you will need to update it. To avoid this, use static IP addressing instead of DHCP. For lots of help on networking in Windows, we recommend you visit Helmig.com
• You only need to port-forward *one* single UDP port for Kai. Please *do not* port-forward port 3074 UDP.
• For Windows users, make sure you put the port number you forward (30000 if that's what you use) into Kai Port in the Kai Configuration Tool. Leave Kai Deep Port as 0!
• If you are coming here from XBConnect, and you have port-forwarded port 8602 UDP / TCP (as instructed on their site), and you know it works, you can just use that same port for Kai. Remember to enter 8602 into Kai Port in the Kai Configuration Tool.
• ADSL / DSL users that have a modem capable of NAT functions may have to set up a "virtual server" or port-forward from the modem to the router. You then have to port-forward from the router to the PC (in essence, creating a "chain" for the port). These modem instructions can also be found at PortForward.com
• If your ISP or college blocks most ports, ask them if they have any UDP ports open. If they do, use this as your 'Kai Port'.

Network Reachable

'Network reachable' does not refer to whether you can see arenas or view chat messages. It simply means, 'will other users be able to connect to me?'. It is essential that your network is reachable if you want to play online. If you use a router / gateway and discover that your network is not reachable, you will need to perform a port-forward.

It may also be a possibility that a software firewall is causing your network to be unreachable. For help with such a problem, and for more information on port-fowarding, please visit the FAQ (section 2.0 Networking and Firewall Questions).

Note: If you have already port-forwarded a single UDP port, please make sure you enter the UDP port number you are forwarding into the Kai Configuration Tool under 'Kai Port'.

In most cases, it is a problem due to either:
a software firewall,
incorrect network setup,
not port-forwarding,
or a DHCP issue (if auto configuration fails).

I did the port checker thing:

port number to check: 30000
protocol: udp and tcp

external ip address: 122.107.226.241

Ping Result... we are not able to ping your router.

port check result... your port is open on this computer.

Looks like your port-forwarding has not problems.

Did you repeat the Kai installation? If yes, Try clean-installing Kai version 7.4.28.
1. Uninstall Kai Version 7.4.28 in Windows Control Panel.
2. Manually remove C:\Documents and Settings\<yourname>\Application Data\XLink Kai folder from your Windows.
3. Restart your Windows.
4. Install Kai version 7.4.28 to your Windows.

Alternative suggestion. Try installing Kai version 7.4.26 after uninstalling Kai version 7.4.28 from your Windows.
1. Uninstall Kai Version 7.4.28 in Windows Control Panel.
2. Manually remove C:\Documents and Settings\<yourname>\Application Data\XLink Kai folder from your Windows.
3. Restart your Windows.
4. Install Kai version 7.4.26 to your Windows.
