Hi,

Is your network reachable? Yes
Are you using a router? Yes
Did you set a static IP on the PC running Kai? Yes
Did you forward port 30000 to the static IP? Yes
Did you click the globe after forwarding to see if your network goes reachable? Yes
What console are you using? PS3 super slim
Is your console being detected? No
Brief description of your network setup:
1st try:
PC ->router->cable modem (all wired)
Ps3 ->router->cable modem (all wired)
2nd try:
Ps3->(via ethernet)PC->(via USB)cable modem (all wired)
Model numbers of the router, and modem? D-link DI-524, Cisco erp2100
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? No
Operating System? Win XP
Problem description?
For both types of connections everything is OK except PS3 detection.
I tried to set up an Internet connection in different ways but every time my PS3 can’t get IP address or IP is assigned and PS3 is signing up to PSN (no DNS error)

Connection method – Wired
Operation mode - Auto-Detect
IP Address Settings – Automatic
DHCP host name - Do Not Set
DNS Setting - Automatic
MTU - Automatic
Proxy Server - Do Not Use.

...and PS3 signed up to PSN without DNS error.

DNS error is normal when you have XLink Kai working.

Having PS3 and computer both hook up to the router should have work so making me think was DHCP conflict.

Having PS3 wired to computer should work too. You problem with that may have been xlink kai was listening on wrong network adapter. You should go to http://127.0.0.1:34522/config.htm and change your network adapter to the Ethernet one that your PS3 is hook up to. You must have xlink kai running for that link to work.

I have different IP for PC and PS3 in my LAN (192.168.0.195 and 192.168.0.112). I had already set proper network card.

I turn on PC, run xlink kai, turn on PS3, set Internet connections, run Borderlands and looking for LAN games but PS3 still not detected. Below a screenshot of my Xlink Kai and the contents kaiUserConfig.txt

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I already don't have ideas Smile.

You have your IP address set as automatic and getting that IP address? If so you will need to set it manually. That ether could be conflict problem, or you don't have it set up right, or you logging on PS3 before you have XLink kai running. Go to that link and enter in last two digits of your mac than you will need to enter that in your PS3 network settings. http://teamxlink.co.uk/ps2assign.php

Make sure your PS3 and computer are both hook up to by Ethernet. Few examples ether PS3 to computer, or PS3 and computer hook up to the same network device.

You also should select your Ethernet adapter in XLink Kai settings as if you have one than more active network adapter.

Probably be easier for me to help you in live chat on xlink. I be bale to get on any weekday after 2 pm normally. List a time you could get on and I will get on if you want to and I very sure could get it to work for you.

The last two digits of MAC are 20, so the last part of IP should be .32 . IP range assigned by the router is between .100 and .199 . Could that be the cause?

Last two digits will be as a example 00:04:1F:02:01:10 will be 01:10.

It really be easier to trouble shoot what wrong if we both on xlink together. As then I can see what problem is by few tests.
