Please someone help me! All I want to do is play some Socom 2. We can use TeamViewer because I'm not really tech savvy. Also to add to this, I am trying to set up my xlink through my laptop(ethernet cord connected directly to here to the Ps2). If anyone is willing to help I would be ecstatic! thank you

Found the problem:

the router security was blocking the p2p connections used by xlink.

Was a router or modem installed? If you want to make sure the modem is the
issue you could temporarily hook your computer directly to the modem to
rule the router out.

Ik the OP likely won't see this, but as a general warning to anyone on here, never EVER ask complete strangers to remote into your PC. Working in IT, i see customers fall into this trap, on a daily basis. If the person who remotes in ends up, not beinf as nice as you may have thought (offering assistance and all) they can plant all sorts of nasty trojans, adware etc etc and if you arent tech savvy, you wont be able to tell what they're actually doing.

Having a legitimate company remote in to assist you (such as your ISP or a reputable, well known and well established tech support company you already have a service contract with is fine, but don't invite random people in a forum in. This is a public forum, the whole world can see and sign up is free and only takes a couple mins...
