Firstly sorry if I have posted this in the wrong section of the forums!

Medal of Honor Rising Sun ps2 features a lan mode but doesn't have an arena in xlink. There is quite a few of us wanting to get onto this game and it would be much appreciated if you guys could support it.

Thanks

After testing the game last night I notice LAN mode on this game seems to be broken. It just keep sending DNS request for domain name that game was originally hosted on. Even if you host a game no way for other people to find the room unless you find work around.

We did a bit of testing and came to the same conclusion. Any ideas if there will be a way to work around this or is the lan mode just not integrated correctly?

It seem like LAN feature just broken. It probably require receiving some data from server before being able to create a room on LAN which makes no sense. Also require connecting to DNAS server first which is a mess when using XLink.

Strange. I will have a look in the instructions manual to see if there is any clues there.

If someone had packet log back when game was online that may come in useful. If the game did not use encryption probably won't be too hard to make a simple script. Then someone could host DNS server that runs script. If you able to find any packet logs of game I won't mind looking at it, but I won't promise anything.

Packet captures may be hard to find, i will look around though. Maybe worth noting this post here -http://playstation2.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2348

Any ideas how we could implement a region?

Hi, Did you by any chance manage to get MoH to work??? I've been desperately tring to get it run but if I pass DNAS the IP is out of table of Xlink and console is not set up correctly....On the other hand if console is set up correct on Xlink then I dont have direct access to DNS to clear DNAS to let the LAN in......I know it's an old post but maybe you got it to work????I think I tried everything.... Sad

Not that I know of. I may take another look at it cause I like looking at how games talk over network, but I won't get your hopes up.

I couldn't find any LAN traffic whatsoever last time I took a look at that game.

My best guess is that it's a broken feature that was originally intended, which was not removed prior to shipping.

Kiera2 can you explain the DNAS bypass ive been working on it for quite sometime I think I may have a work around for the xlink problem. We need to fake the data of a master server list. Region listing is the broken link. Ive been working on this for sometime. I may build a server if need be. I already built the multiplayer as a PC mod. The problem is my hex isnt great. LAN is in there if we can spoof the data of a region we might be on to something for xlink. If anyone has a copy of rising sun with bypassable DNAS let me know!!

Hi, I know I already replied to you, but hopefully this will be of some use to someone else:

The DNS server address during network settings creations are:
Primary DNS: 74.91.125.138
Secondary DNS: 186.34.183.203

IP address is on auto, and no password required....

Those details pass DNAS, but like I said, you need internet access to do so....
Hopefuly someone can figure this out.....

Sad Sad I'm guessing there is still nothing changed??? In the mean time I tried DNAS Patcher - it didnt work, just gave me UNKNOWN CLIENT ERROR, and I tried WinnDIP to patch DNAS but that didn't work either....

Does anyone know maybe Codebreaker DNAS bypass codes????

Sad Sad Sad Sad
