I want to know if this setup will work or not: My PC would be connected to the internet by wifi, my console would be connected to the router by ethernet. Will this work or will I need to directly connect my console to my PC?

Most of the time it does not work. First try hard wiring everything and
verify that you can join game lobbies and play a game without the game
disconnecting. After making sure everything works you could try wireless out.

Okay no problem. Luckily my PC is a laptop so moving it out to the living room wont be a problem.
