Is it possible to get builds for ARM (as an example)? As a proposal, I have sheeva plug computer and can build kaid for that and some other platforms. The reason is I don't want to have "big" PC (x86) up and running for kaid, the plug computer looks as a good alternative from many points (energy, noise, etc.). |

Its possible, but no one on the team has put much time into it unfortunately. I myself have been trying to remove the dependency on libwx for the kai engine to allow for headless linux installs, but I haven't had the time to work on it for a while.
I'll try to put the time in and get kai working headless, then we can think about arm builds  |

It is possible to compile for other architectures, there is actually versions for routers and MIPS CPUs.
Howerver, find the source code for KAID is impossible. I on these forums begging for it.
Any MEGA version of DDWRT contains kaid, however it seems that in later versions is was miscompiled and now it does not run.. It acutally complains about some DLOPEN error, which I assume is a compiler error ( as all the research I have done points to that ).
Iev download the entire DDWRT source and tried to compile KAID into ipkg or x86. However, that source compiles with errors -
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make: [kaid] Error 1 (ignored)
Done!

Are there any news about MIPS support?
I currently play arround with Open-WRT and found out that MIPS is no longer supported.
A router would be the perfect Xlink-device. You could connect multiple consoles and would need one poweroutlet less.
With the current Xlink kai you need a Raspberry Pi/PC + a hub/switch/router to connect multiple devices to xlink at once. |
