Help a brother out! Cannot detect console?? I miss my family

Hi guys, I'm having trouble getting xlink set up again. I played for about a year regularly back in 2015. Bought a new laptop and Ethernet cable recently & I'm trying to get it hooked up.

I'm using a laptop with Windows 10, I've downloaded Xlink Kai and I'm reaching the network and all, but it says my console is not detected. I am trying to connect my original xbox to play halo 2, Everything seems to be fine, I can find game lobbies through the Kai UI and my pc says I'm connected to the TX Poutine server. But when I go to "System Link" on my halo 2 menu, it says there is no network connection and Kai cannot detect console.

A little redundant I know, the problem seems so simple but I have no idea what it is. Some help would be greatly appreciated guys, thanks!

Check the Windows Firewall, turn it off and Start the Kai.

Thanks for responding. I have tried that. The firewall is off. The problem seems to be Kai isn't detecting my console. Like when I go to the Kai UI, it tells me "No consoles have been detected yet" even though it finds the server and my pc says kai is connected to TX Poutine server & I can see people chatting in the halo 2 game lobby. I have an Ethernet cable plugged into my xbox... any other ideas?? Thanks

Seriosuly aggravated right now..I've spent like 3 hours trying to figure this out. Xlink Kai is running, my cat 6 cable is plugged from my xbox to laptop, the engine is running/server is reachable. But it still says my console is not detected and I get the "Sorry, could not detect a network" message when I choose System Link in my halo 2 game menu.

Problem solved mates. Finally after mulling this over coffee at my local Starbucks, in a frustrated frenzy to figure this out I realized the only possible issue must be the compatibility of my original xbox with the recently updated Kai engine. So I tried plugging it into my xbox 360 instead and BOOM! Headshot. Everything running smoothly now. I guess Kai no longer supports original xbox??

Could just be a bug, I doubt that Team Xlink would abandon the original Xbox considering it one of the most populated platforms on here. Wait for a staff member to reply, they will likely try to find a fix for this....
