Join Private Arena Games? Halo 2

Once I am here:

Arena > XBox > First Person Shooter > Halo 2 > Latin America > Solo Retos

And then I click a private arena game, I see it populate on my 360 but it still shows as closed. On the host side, are they just not accepting me?

just making sure I am not missing something simple.

Also, I don't speak Spanish so try to use Google Translate.

If a game shows as '(closed)', that means the party is locked. People usually do this during matches if they do not want people joining in progress.

Assuming they are starting a private party from Xlink versus within Halo 2, correct?

So you have to be on Xlink chat and hop into the game lobby at the right moment?

Yeah, some people keep games open while they're running so you can join in progress, others lock them before starting the round.

Got it. I need to create a private arena so I can better know what is going on in the back end.

Currently, I am just joining open games in the lobbies from the main "solo retos" list on the xbox itself.
