1st setup your chosen connection using official guide: http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/quickstart.php

TIPS:
-if no arenas for warhawk in Kai but many idle warhawk users they may be hosting games and just didn't list it in kai [busiest time is USA timezone weekends]
-for webpage version - look in navigation section, as may be many players there even though none in 'players' section
Arrow or if kai gets logon errors or there is no one in it's warhawk arena, right click kai icon, if there is only 1 TX server chances are it's under maintenance, as usually there are 2-4 servers.
-after enter PS3's warhawk lobby, spam refresh button [triangle] 5x per second until games show up on the server list

COMMON PROBLEMS:
-leave default kai configuration 'Automatically assign IP for: PS2+PS3+PS4' - if tick PS3 only it won't work mostly, as kai may assign it as a PS2 or PS4.
-no need to port forward if router has uPnP enabled, but if you must: http://teamxlink.co.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=evo7:port_forwarding
-if kai won't start: install WinPcap v4.1.3 from the official website https://www.winpcap.org/
-user/password must be set on website, kai settings>auto logon does not change them

FOR CD VERSIONS - use the standard guide: http://teamxlink.co.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=evo7:ps3_setup

FOR PSN VERSIONS: (thanks to all the Kai users who gave advice in arena chat for these extra steps)
-check kai for warhawk activity
-exit kai [if using webpage version, right click the taskbar icon, as logout won't exit]
-start ps3, load warhawk to main menu [for PSN logon, IP address should be 192....etc in PS3>network settings>status list]
-before entering 'local games' start kai>enter warhawk arena [kai should say 'network reachable=yes' in diagnostics/metrics]
-unplug ps3 network connection, or if using PS3 to wifi disable wifi in modem [IP address should say 'automatic' in PS3>network settings>status list]
-reconnect ps3 network connection
-kai should list PS2/PS3/PS4 as 'found console' or 'configured correctly' or be blue and not red [in diagnostics 2nd view/metrics] -IP address should now be 10.253.... in PS3>network settings>status list
-enter 'local games' in warhawk, and remember the TIPS at top of this page.

Quick question. The PSN version of Warhawk requires logging in to PSN?

update: i found an easier way to get the PSN game to change ip address 1st time every time!

-instead of re-plugging the cable [many times untill it finally works] just reboot the modem at that step, then exit and restart KAI.

if all that fails, you can try the simpler non-KAI DNS change method [no apps required -uses virtual warhawk hosted servers directly in PS3] at https://www.psone.online/getting-started instead.

edit: i also found after quitting kai it may still be active in processes, so to restart it, you may have to kill the process 'kaiengine' in task manager with crtl-alt-esc 1st.

update 2: it seems using PS3's network menu to monitor/confirm changes can interfere with the ip change, so instead, only use xlink's 'metrics' to monitor the change after rebooting the modem [at end of list, when it says: found consoles=ok] then exit/restart xlink as described.

update 3: newer xlink app seems to not work with modem reboot method now, so i went back to cable re-plugging even with PS3's network menu open - i guess just try whichever works for you.
