Although this has nothing to do with tunneling
for those of saying that the DS would be soooo much smaller than the PSP or whatnot that isn't the case the PSP is roughly about the same size of the ds and actually only slightly larger defending on how you look at it (the screen is HUGE compared to the DS) check it out here |

First off I don't think this forum is just for threads about tunneling.
Yes they are roughly the same size. However, the DS can fit it a pocket nicely with no worries. If I do get a PSP, I would always leave it in its case when I'm not using it (Big screen, big scratches). The case however will add a significant amount of depth to the psp (I'm thinking 20-40%).
Thats a nice article for Xlink |

the size and the design look fine to me. I am a bit worried about the fragility of a disc based poratable system tho |

The discs are small enough i don't see anything causing skips or jitters unless it's intentional.
Something like a felt pouch would be able to protect the screen pretty well from scratches.
Its the hard blows and screen breaking that would worry me more.
But hey, if you have it in your pocket you should know to be careful.
Same goes for the DS |

Nintendo stuff is built like toys.
It can take alot of abuse. Someone posted a vid of a GC beeing dragged behind a car the other day, and it still booted |

Yes i understand you 100% but the DS has a touch screen and is one half of the system. I have read on the internet about a guy who accidentily dropped his DS about 3 ft. he said onto a rug both screen had internal cracks but hey i can always throw around my SP |

it would only take a little force pressed on the psp screen to break it and cause that nice "bleeding" effect we love |

Well it depends on how hard the plastic is on the screen. It's probably a lot more durable than the DS screens.
Just get the value pack and you get a carrying case to protect the psp. Or you can do what I plan to do, use those plastic film protectors for the PDA on the PSP screen area! Works on my phone, should work with the PSP.
Someone dropped their DS on a carpet from 3 ft and the screens broke. |

Hmm which is why I said "probably". I didn't say it was, I was speculating. And that's interesting... I wasn't talking about the paint on the DS...... But you know what, who cares. As long as it works for you it's all good. |

I remember reading an article that talked about the PSP and the knife, but I can't find it anymore.....
Oh well, at least we know it's durable. |

No kidding. My GBA SP has taken a lot of falls, and is scratched all over on the outside of the case, and some of the games even get stuck in the slot until I REALLY push, but there are no problems whatsoever with booting. |

Knife and falls are two different things. A bulletproof vest will stop a bullet but not a knife, for example.
A coat that prevents a knife cutting might not do much to shield the INSIDES from the kinetic energy of a fall.
Personally, I'm more curious about heat. A 333 mhz processor generates a LOT more heat than the 16mhz processor in my virtually frozen GBA SP. Add to that a disk drive, and no fan, and I wonder if that thing won't heat up like a laptop |
