I also have this same problem. Psp connects in windows, I get packets, but kai never sees the psp.

Windows managing the cards, or the card specific software.
Auto/Short/Long preamble.
Both cards have the exact same problem. |
Since neither of these two cards are in the "working" list, the only advice I can offer is to read the FAQ and check that your cards support promicuous mode.
If it still doesn't work after that then it probably won't work at all since Kai probably can't inject packets without using its own MAC address. |

No you only need one USB key for the PC, the PSP has wireless built in |

you need a card (not necessarily a wireless one)to connect to the internet, and one to connect to your psp (must be wireless, and it should be one that is compatible). |

Just curious if anyone who had the problem of their PC detecting the PSP but not Kai managed to figure out what it was or get it fixed? I seem to be in the same boat except that I did have to go around the guide a little and may well have messed something up that way - for whatever reason I seem to be missing a windows tab that wa mentioned in the guide (my wireless connection properties only has a 'general' and 'advanced' tab)and it seems to me that the only way to go around it was by using the Buffalo software (which I know isn't ideal). However, my settings have all been taken straight from the guide.
On Kai (I'm totally new to Kai) I get 5 things in the diagnostics. The important ones I think are the second one with the pen and the tick (mine says 'Network Reachable: Not Yet') and the third which has my Buffalo card listed (says its 'locked', is that right?). I've left the PSP on for a good 20-30 mins to see if Kai picks it up but no joy. I've played with a few settings but I'll be honest and admit I'm out of my depth with this sort of thing.
Anyway, let me know if anyone who had the same problem figured out what's missing.
Cheers,
Dogg. |

I think you have to have the card enabled to have the wireless network tab there....... |

Even with the card enabled, I don't seem to get that tab. Is it possible that the Buffalo software is interfering with the Windows connections? Maybe I'll try uninstalling the Buffalo software...

I can host games alright, but how do I join?
While joining do you need to host a game while going into Kai and then quit out, and try to join a game afterwords? I've tried for hours and can't get the darn thing to work right, |

keep in mind that you have two connections, a physical connection between your computer and a router/cablemodem/hub, and a wireless connection between the computer and psp
thus, you need a straight through cable and a wireless card |

Hi CPhoneix, I just got a question.
I followed your instructions and setup my PSP and my laptop's WIFI card and Xlink. And my PSP connects to the computer and also Xlink says connects to my PSP successfully.
But sometimes when I try to create a game in RR it actually showed me a screen with japanese letters that I think it means "There is already other games being hosted with the AD-HOC channel i selected and told me to select join game in RR instead".
However, when I try to join a game in RR, the game wasnt able to find any games. Is there a setting that i can change or adjust to get it working both ways?
Also I tried changing the Deep port to 30001 since someone posted here and said it works, but no success for me.
So if anyone can help me, Please Help and
Thank You very much !! |

Wait a second, I need 2 wireless network cards to connect my PSP?
Anyway I havent got the faintest clue of what Im doing. I followed your guide but stopped short when my network adapter didnt have a wireless network tab. I am using the Buffalo g54L (on the list). currently it is being used to connect to the internet. Do I need a seperate card just to connect to the PSP? Also I am using Windows 2000 Pro (*insert puking face here*). |

If Kai sees your PSP, dos it mean the network card is supported and works? |
