well yes and no
Yes because it means thats it connect to the pc and kai has found the wireless network thew it and gives it a good chance of working
No because if you card dosent support promiscous mode then you have no luck, also if it cant recive any packets then you may be in trouble |

I'll try asking here first, as I'd rather not clutter up with an extra thread. I am connected through my laptop and PSP, working fine. I have everything configured and working correctly. Only problem, when I boot Kai I honestly have no clue where to go for arenas etc. I'm assuming a prog should pop up when kai is running, no? Nothing is poping up after load ups, it just says running on the bottom. Also, should I also run the ethernet wire for the net too? If I'm not mistaken, having the PSP connected to the PC is the wireless connection, where is the net to play? Meh, sorry for the noobish questions, I learn fast though. Thanks |

Anyone know how to check if a card is in promiscuous mode? On linux? Mac? Windows? |

From http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5154
Firstly, please take the following into consideration. Your wireless network card may detect your PSP, but you STILL might not be able to play. The following list is a guide of what our users have used and confirmed working on THEIR home network - no guarantees are given it will work on yours, and there may be issues with different revisions of the cards.
So no, doesn't mean it necessarily works if Kai detects your PSP. Read the linked thread thoroughly. |

I'm compatible, that's really not my question though. As I said, I have checked through all that is available to read. I have the proper set up. |

It's working. And in fact i cannot see me in Kai. But i think that's ok, as long as the other players can see me in Kai.
Another Question? i tried to join games. There are three guys which are hosting but if the psp scans for hosted games, it can't detect them. i tried it many times and sometimes i can join a game. Is that the normal procedure? |

Ok. I have 3 PCs but only 2 matter. I have mine(with a wireless card) and my moms(the server or 192.168.0.1) ok well do i need to have both computers? or do i just need one with a wireless card? and even then could i possibly just connect using the USB cable? or is that definatly out of the question? this is just a massive night mare... ok. well please help and btw i have the http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=25-3280 or its actually the LinkSys WMP54GS (PCI) so. please help me out here. btw is there anyway to keep it from disconnecting all the time? cuz thats the problems i have with wireless. thank you....
ooooo one more thing you know those wireless gaming things with the cable that plugs into computer and the wireless thing that sits on floor or something? would that work as far as just gettin me connected to kai?
thanks |

For all people who cannot see the middle tab "Wireless Networks" in their wireless adapter properties tab you need to start Wireless Zero Configuration service in windows.
To start the Wireless Zero Configuration service, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Run, type %SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc /s, and then click OK.
2. Double-click Wireless Zero Configuration.
3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.
4. In the Service status area, click Start, and then click OK. |
