I don't know them all, but I'll try to explain as much as I can Smile

Profiles

Normal - Normal use of Kai. When you run Kai's launcher, both the engine and UI will start up normally, so you can run Kai straight off.

Seperated Use - Engine PC - Only the engine will run.

Seperated Use - UI PC - Only the UI will run.

Config Items

Kai Port - The port Kai will use. Not everyone needs to change this. If you have problems connecting but you know you have a particular port open, then you can choose that. I have port 8602 open from using XBC, so I filled 8602 in here.

Kai Deep Port - I have no idea Embarassed mine is set to 0 and works fine.

Launch UI (checkbox) - If this is checked, the UI will run when you run the launcher.

Launch Engine (checkbox) - If this is checked, the engine will run when you run the launcher.

Adapter - Which NIC Kai will use. Most opeople can set this to autodetect I think, since Kai will look for XBox packets sent and then automagically lock itself to that NIC.

Default User - - The users datails that you put in here will automagically be filled in on the login screen of Kai when you run it.

Default Password - The default password that should be filled in to match the default user.

Close UI After: - Not entirely sure, but I think the 1 hour and 30 mins options will shut down the Kai UI after that amoun of idle time. Never will never close the UI unlesss you do it yourself. Loss of UI will shut down the UI if the UI encounters an error.

Accept UI Connection From: - If the engine is running on 1 PC in your network, you can just run the UI on another PC and as long as this is set to "any IP address", it will work. Set it to "local IP only" to only let Kai be controled from the PC the engine is running on.

These are my personal understandings of the options. Someone may be along to correct me, but I think most of themare there Wink

Not just FastWeb users, but anyone on one of our "deep" orbital networks. I've got word that there's a similar sort of ISP in Japan that is doing the same thing.

I've been wondering this from the beginning.. what exatly is "Kai Deep Port" and how should it be set.. will the setting affect performance? I set it for the port that I have forwarded for "Kai Port". Should I set it to 0 as [IXS]eXodus has? I do not have FastWeb.

I think that's the answer.... so yeah, leave it zero unless someone tells you to do otherwise.
