My opinion is based on playing Halo, nothing else
Kai has been smoother from the start. Playing on someone's host that's smooth on XBC, will be a dream to play on Kai. I can't wait to join some USA Halo servers
While there was both RC2 and RC3 out, I think the users were split a lot, I never used RC2 so I don't know how many users there are on that. My opinion has so far been that XBC has a lot more users, but after seeing 3000+ users sign up on the first day of registrations, I think XLink has more than enough users - you'll never be short of someone to play.
I still use both XBC and Kai up to now, just as it makes it twice as easy to find a game. XLink Kai: Evo 7 can change that? We'll have to wait for tonight |

Yeps i Agree with Exo, in general i have found that kai is smoother than XBC. Plus the whole GUI is way better and choosing which game to join from a list on your xbox rather than entering and leaving rooms all the time is just pure genius.

Hehe, I love that. It's great when there's like 5+ games to scroll down, without leaving the room once |

when kai was first introduced, no one thought the similarity to the WGN mode from the original xlink would ever become successful way to manage multiple server gameplay. now it's the only way to go.

Hello all,
I've got a somewhat related question. It has kind of been answered, but I just want to ask again to make sure. In XBConnect, you had to join a room on the PC, wait till the connection is set up (which was hard to find out, sometimes), then walk over to your Xbox, join the game, and then you could play. Is this any different in Kai?

Does this mean that I can now start Kai on my PC, walk over to my Xbox, and I've got all the games right there to choose from, to join and leave as I see fit?
And while I'm here, asking, one more question: Will NTSC Xboxes be able to play against PAL Xboxes? Because with XBConnect it wasn't so, and I was hoping it would be so with Kai. Anyway, just a couple hours till release, so I guess I'll see then.
[EDIT]: Just remembered another question I had. I've read a lot about "homebrew dashboards" and such (Avalaunch, XBMC, etc.) in the FAQ and forums. Will I need any of this to play online with Kai? I sure hope not, since I don't want to have to alter/mod my Xbox.
Thanks in advance,
Brainboy |

Brainboy: Yea, that's pretty much it. On Kai, you enter the Arena for the game yuo want to play (Halo Arena, RS3 Arena etc.) then all the games currently being hosted will be on your screen, just choose one on the XBox and you're away
For your second question - no. They're just optional extras for people who have modded boxes and want to use them |

Thanks for the great answers. Seems like Kai will definitely beat out XBConnect. I'm trying to get that working again right now, it's pretty hard, since you never know whether the host has actually created the game or not, and it's a real nuisance to have to walk between rooms to find out... |
